3D Wooden Puzzle Steam Engine

I’ve now done several models from this company and they’ve all been exceptional. Hands down, top tier product. The laser cut pieces rarely break, my experience was user error rather than bad cuts. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The tools provided and the extra pieces attached are welcomed to have. This puzzle want difficult for someone who’s done a few of these types of builds. There are however a higher number than average small to very small pieces to build. Smaller children and dexterity and vision impaired beware. This was a very fun and engaging build, as there were many gears and shafts to assemble and then see work when the train takes off at a surprisingly fast speed. Overall, an awesome build that probably took close to five or six casual hours. Highly recommend anything from THINKPUZZLES.

I am an experienced modeler, and this model took me four days to assemble. This is a level five model with 469 parts. Personally, I loved all the challenges that this model presents. The screws are smaller than a piece of rice, but the parts are not too fragile. Everything is pre-colored except the crew. I used acrylic markers to add the color. The fit of the pieces is a little looser than what I'm used to. It makes putting the pieces together easier, but I used Super Glue to hold a lot of parts because of their loosness. All-in-all a great model for an experienced modeler. Not for a novice.

I love this wooden train. Most of the pieces fit together nicely but a couple of them needed to be super glued to be able to stay. Also a couple of the pieces broke but there were extras. I love the amount of detail in this train. There are two little wooden people steering, three barrels on the second car, and several moving gears which are fully seen to see the locomotive move. There are lines and writing on it to make it look more realistic. Some of the pieces are colorful which makes them stand out like the red wheels and the different shades of wood grain. It includes a little park bench and a street light.I was halfway through building before i noticed that the wax needed was included. The wax looks like a piece to help put it together so be on the lookout. It does come with everything that you need, including a couple extra screws but not that many so be careful not to lose them. The steam is a fluff of cotton hair that lights up once in motion. All the gears move smoothly (if you wax them).This is a very detailed, big and little piece creation that is fully functional. The reward for your determination is achieved once completed. This set comes highly recommended!

This looks cool and lights up and moves. think puzzles doesn't use the best wood and you have to be very careful when taking pieces off boards. Sand and wax connections and it will come out well. I like design, they just don't seem to use the best wood. I have assembled almost every wooden model you can purchase on Thinkpuzzles. Thinkpuzzles does make some nice models.

I originally thought that $58.90 was a bit expensive. However, once I opened it, I realized that the quality of the product was good enough to justify the price.It is a very precise puzzle, and you will enjoy assembling it.The instruction manual is more sophisticated than the one that comes with LEGO sets. This product makes for a great gift for adults who enjoy puzzles.

This is the 3rd kit I order for my teen to do while home on spring break. This one was opened as soon as it got here. He is only 13, so it took him nearly all day- however he was OBSESSED. If you had a kid that loved legos this is it. He had so much fun putting it together and it kept him off of electronics the whole day. All the pieces are thick and well made. Instructions are very easy to follow. Highly recommend, especially if you are giving as a gift.

This is another really good wooden assembly kit from think puzzles. It’s considered a 5 out of 5 for difficulty and contains all the tools needed for assembly. It will go forward and reverse at both slow and fast speed. It features both a motor as well as LED lights but does require 2 AAA batteries. I’ll post pictures to this review showing my progress.
